Sapaccto Land above Urubamba Valley (Sacred Valley), Peru - May 26, 2012 - Stayed overnight in Urubamba Valley on way back from Machu Picchu heading to Cusco. Looked up a fishing guide in the area as I heard there were big trout in the waters. Thought we were going fishing in the river, but instead, the guide took me to native Sapaccto waters 14,000 ft above sea level! In order to make peace with the Quechua community living there, we brought school supplies and fresh bread. While fishing, I met Armando (4 yrs old) and Yulino (2 yrs old) who came running up to see if I had caught anything. I taught them how to cast a rod and fish the jig. Armando even hooked Yulino’s sweater at one point, too funny. Then, the amazingness of fishing happened and we caught a 55cm (22in), 3.5kg (7.7lb) rainbow trout! I can’t even begin to describe our excitement so I’ll let the pictures do the talking. What an incredible, incredible day and I seriously cannot say enough kind things about the Quechua community and the people I met today.

Lima, Peru, May 22, 2012 - Took the 6 1/2 hr flight from Rio to Lima this morning, met a surf instructor named Oscar in Lima, and was longboarding in Playa La Estrella an hour later :)
